The Big Boys

In our last blog, we told you how blessed we were to reunited with Miss Bianca- Charlie's nanny while back in Banyo. We also were able to reunite with the “Suudu Bikkoy” boys before they return to their village. These three boys are from a very secluded village. Two of them are orphans. All of them come to Banyo to go to school and get discipled by Fulbe believers. While in Banyo, we resumed our weekly dinner and movie nights with them. They have also been really into puzzles, coloring, and reading books when they come over. We also have the two hostel parents' kids over so that they can have a restful evening to themselves. Saturdays are always so much fun- Charlie asks everyday, “How many more days until the big boys come over again?”

Not a great picture- everyone was too busy having fun to pose!

They also have helped us a lot. One movie night, they killed a mouse in our house!! They have also helped get our garden going so that they could make some money to take home with them. Here is a picture of our future garden.

We just planted the seeds. Hopefully we will soon have corn, watermelon, peppers, tomatoes, green beans, squash, broccoli, and herbs. When our friend helped clear the land for the garden, he also cleared a lot of the brush and we were amazed by our view. So much so that we are going to try and put some concrete down so we can put a plastic table outside where we can eat and we will probably do a lot of Charlie's homeschool out there too!

The boys will be returning to their village soon since school is done for the year. Please keep them and their village in your prayers as the village is facing some difficult situations right now. Pray that the boys will be safe and will be able to return to Banyo for school in the Fall. We will really miss them!
